Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Creativity Museum of Co-operation between Guangdong and Macao

The Zhuhai Hengqin Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Creative Museum is the world's first large-scale immersive narrative experience center themed on traditional Chinese medicine, an important project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao cooperative Traditional Chinese Medicine Industrial Park, and also one of the typical examples of Hengxin Oriental's digital immersive experience centers (LBE venues).

The museum covers a construction area of approximately 36,000 square meters, with an exhibition area of about 19,000 square meters, integrating the inheritance of Chinese medicine culture, popular science education, and leisure tourism. It is centered around the theme of “Reviving a Millennium of Medical Wisdom with Wonder,” featuring fascinating experiences, and innovatively interpreting Chinese medicine culture. The project is undertaken and produced by Hengxin Dongfang, and the venue was created under the leadership of Sir Richard Taylor, founder of the New Zealand Weta Workshop, which has won five Academy Awards.

On July 19, 2025, the opening ceremony of the Chinese Medicine Culture Experience Hall in the Guangdong-Macao Cooperative Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park was grandly held in the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone, marking the official opening of the Zhuhai Hengqin Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Creative Museum.

Enabling more Chinese people to understand and accept the theories of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is the foundation for better learning TCM knowledge and jointly promoting the integration of Eastern and Western science and medicine. This is Hengxin Oriental's long-term goal for the project. The TCM Science and Technology Creative Museum, themed around TCM techniques and medicinal plants, is a digital TCM museum that 'lets history speak and brings cultural relics to life.'

The architectural design of the TCM Science and Technology Creative Museum is cleverly crafted, drawing inspiration from the characteristics of the lotus flower, symbolizing growth, health, and balance—the three core values. It has become a culturally distinctive landmark in the region.

The greatest feature of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Science and Technology Creative Museum lies in interpreting TCM in the form of themed entertainment. Through CG, sculptures, multimedia, and other high-tech means, it achieves 'Chinese stories, international interpretation,' explaining the origins and mysteries of TCM to visitors. The exhibition is divided into four main chapters: the 'Source' of TCM, the 'Soul' of TCM, the 'Spirit' of TCM, and the 'Path' of TCM. Unlike most traditional museums that follow a chronological timeline, each chapter of the TCM Science and Technology Creative Museum spans multiple time dimensions to illustrate the important stages of TCM theory.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Creativity Museum will make IP design of Chinese herbal Medicine in the form of elves, stimulate the development of derivatives, and create a magical world of Traditional Chinese Medicine like "Pandora" for the audience. The museum also sets up various interactive installations such as Wuqinxi interactive, traditional Chinese medicine interactive and acupuncture interactive, providing visitors with unique educational and entertainment experiences. Chinese medicine bookstore, herbal medicine cafe, Chinese medicine education P Exploration Center, Chinese medicine derivatives exhibition area and other consumption formats will further enrich the tourist experience.
